In the continuing adventure in doing things that I’ve never done before I am delighted to have had a poem accepted for the fourth annual Bangor poetry competition – just wrote it out in my best handwriting and framed it for the exhibition.

Wish me luck ? in case you can’t read the pic it reads.

He was here and working and happy, Then the cat sat behind him unseen. Her golden eyes gazed out upon him, She yawned like the roundest faced child, And cast out upon him and round him Her warmest and sneeziest smile. He coughed he spluttered he wheezeled, He sweated he sniffed and he cursed. His eyes swam his nose ran like rivers, He blew til his handkerchief burst. He's gone now, we sit in the quiet. Enlightened enjoying the warm, Then faintly we hear when we raise half an ear, The little sneeze left and forlorn.

Allergic

There is a soft little sneeze in the roof space,
Where the nice electrician has been.
He was here and working and happy,
Then the cat sat behind him unseen.

Her golden eyes gazed out upon him,
She yawned like the roundest faced child,
And cast out upon him and round him
Her warmest and sneeziest smile.

He coughed he spluttered he wheezeled,
He sweated he sniffed and he cursed.
His eyes swam his nose ran like rivers,
He blew til his handkerchief burst.

He’s gone now, we sit in the quiet.
Enlightened enjoying the warm,
Then faintly we hear when we raise half an ear,
The little sneeze left and forlorn.
