Lisa is an artist and designer based in Drumbeg near Belfast in Northern Ireland. The stuff of life: water, light and human relationships inspire her work. Much of the work is a reaction against confinement due to 40+ years living with M.E. it is vibrant, colourful and energetic.Whilst primarily an artist with collections in oils, watercolours, pen & inks, enamels, mosaic mirrors and pyrography, Lisa is also a skilled designer and has brought her strong visual eye to a wide variety of projects. She runs a successful graphic and web design micro business bringing original, affordable design to her clients, all of whom have come to her through word of mouth.Recently Lisa has further extended her professional design expertise in a number of areas, whilst still ensuring there is time for painting in the studio, which is the real heart of her work. The fine lines and clear colours of her original art translate beautifully into digital formats, transforming the familiar objects around us into unique, eye-catching pieces. From 2012 – 2015 Lisa collaborated with Luthiers in the design of hand-built stringed instruments crafted from Irish tone woods, one of which was chosen for a Connoisseur guitar collection at the 2013 Sundance London festival. This collaboration led to a fascination with Irish woods and a series of works in the Silviculture series which included pyrography as well as paintings and drawings.Lisa’s work has been selected for the Royal Ulster Academy (RUA) annual exhibition and she has exhibited at various venues including Seymour Galleries, W5, No 27 Talbot St, The Spires, Blackberry Path, Kingfisher and The Yard Galleries as well exhibitions at her own studio.Inspirational places include her home in Drumbeg near Belfast the Cill Rialaig artist retreat in rural southwest Kerry and Mas de Cadignac in the south of France where the wonderful colours of the landscape and the Cote D’Azure provide renewal and inspiration, and complement the equally amazing landscapes in Ireland.Enquires are always welcome.
